Mr. Sofka represents the public community in general as the CHCC's Public Member. His purpose is to provide input regarding how the CHCC's certification policies may influence the general population regarding the reception of life care planning services. Mr. Sofka majored in engineering science and assistive mechanical engineering technology, and currently works as a rehabilitation engineer for Caragonne and Associates in Guadalajara, Mexico. His consulting experiences have included providing direct technology prescription, provision, and follow-up training services to individuals with disabilities, and consultation with institutions, agencies, and small employers to determine compliance with requirements of the Americans with Disability Act of 1990. Other rehabilitation technology achievements related to Mr. Sofka include his developing and implementing the first agency-wide rehabilitation technology service component for Adapt-Ability in St. Louis, MO, and he established the first rehabilitation engineering service delivery component within the St. Louis area. The public is encouraged to contact Mr. Sofka regarding any questions or concerns they may have regarding life care planning services and or rehabilitation technology.
